I have EXECUTED PROJECTS in PyCharm on my GPU and also as Jupyter notebooks on Google COLAB, for which I determined a solution autonomously :> PROJECT #1 - Convolutional autoencoder for lossy image compressionI built a convolutional autoencoder with 5 encoding layers and 5 decoding layers for a dataset of 500 grayscale natural images of size 600×600. The achieved compression factor was 277 (from 600×600 to 36×36).> PROJECT #2 - Multilabel classificationI took 1000 images from CIFAR10. Then, given a pair of images x1 and x2, I build a convolutional neural network that returned both image indices given their average (x1+x2)/2 as the only input. The feature extraction stage contained 3 convolutional layers, while the classifier consisted of 2 linear layers. The achieved accuracy was 97%.> PROJECT #3 - U-Net for image regressionI took 1000 images from CIFAR10. Then, given a pair of images x1 and x2, I build a U-Net that returned both images given their average (x1+x2)/2 as the only input. Its architecture consisted of 3 contracting blocks, followed by 3 expanding blocks. A contracting block consisted of 2 Conv2d and a MaxPool2d, whereas an expanding block consisted of 2 Conv2d and a ConvTranspose2d.> PROJECT #4 - Convolutional neural networks for the detection of aphasiaThis project is an ongoing research project in collaboration with researchers based in Shantou University, China. It aims to detect and quantify the severity level of speech impairement in elderly patients, based on audio recordings of words and sentences. The audio signals are converted to images before being used to train a convolutional neural network. A publication was submitted in Nov. 2022 to the Sensors journal. Show less
