Extend the current WRF development system into an operational system: Used Amazon Web Services (AWS) Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2) to helped develop an operational system using the WRF-ARW. Could run the model daily and store terabytes of data on AWS Simple Storage Service (S3) in the cloud. Develop and test new WRF configurations that build on current capabilities: Helped design and test the WRF-ARW to create a modeling system that downscaled down to 1km resolution across the continental US (CONUS) and across the globe. Prepare downscaled short-term weather forecasts using WRF: Helped design and test a WRF-ARW forecasting system using GFS data.Use historical weather data to reconstruct the weather conditions: Helped create a database of hourly 1km resolution WRF data covering CONUS and across the globe. Create Python code for product development and workflow efficiency: Used Python to help develop a database of METAR data from the Meteorological Assimilation Data Ingest System (MADIS) as well as a created a realtime system to pull in hourly METAR data from MADIS Used Python to calculate meteorological variables from GFS data. Used Python to perform data analysis and compare various meteorological datasets. Test and quality control operational products: Tested products for bugs and other issues before operational deployment
