I studied English Literature and History at the University of York and graduated in summer 2018. Through my work as a teaching assistant and exhibition guide I have developed my education and communication abilities to a high standard. I have volunteered or worked as a classroom assistant in many different schools since October 2017 and have worked as a production assistant for IPS York, who package for Nestlé. I am currently employed as a crewmember for York City Cruises, a complex role which involves a combination of ticketing, working on the bar and securing the boats. Meanwhile as a group secretary of ‘The Vikings’ reenactment society I work alongside a committee to organise reenactment events, such as the Battle of Stamford Bridge reenactment, with an aim to enhance historical understanding. Moreover, I served as the chair for the reenactment society at the University of York, which enhanced my organisational and leadership skills through managing committee meetings and organising further events.
