Whilst working at a recruitment company in his early 20’s Raphael saw a gap in the South African internet market and founded an online recruitment portal. Pnet.co.za was born and through technological innovation, keen business strategy, and aggressive competitive tactics Raphael quickly captured leading market share in online recruitment in South Africa.In 1998 Raphael turned his attention to a lifelong passion, music, This led to creating Powerzone.co.za South Africa’s largest music focused social network, connecting artists and fans. South Africa's first online radio station, streaming video, music downloads and music store was launched. Within 18 months Raphael had branched out and established Sovereign Entertainment, a company that embraces the 360 model of business, offering artists a total career management solution which included promotion, publishing, recording, booking and management. Turning bands into successful companies in their own right. Having nurtured a multitude of South African artists, most notably The Parlotones – South Africa's most successful rock band of all time. Raphael was the executive producer of the world’s first live multi platform 3D global broadcast of a music concert. The performance aired in the US live on Direct TV on the 16 July 2011 as well as Facebook and 3D Cinemas.
