Raphael grew up on an eleven acre farm just outside of Atlanta in Henry county. He became ethralled with the new computer his family bought and the SNES gaming system. Once in high school, he made it necessary to take every computer science course available. Raphael chose Clemson university because of its well-known engineering program and the availability of a Computer Engineering Major. He knew he wanted to be involved in the future of tech and had a knack for programming. Starting at the beginning of the year in 2011, Raphael began his first rotation as a Co-op with Itron, Inc. a utility solutions provider at their plant in West Union, SC with the Product Management team. Raphael would work for a semester, return for classes for a semester, and work again for a total of three rotations at Itron, Inc. He learned many things about the expectations and culture of the professional world and was grateful for the experience.In 2013, Raphael studied abroad in Lüneburg, Niedersachsen, Germany. It is a small town located near Leuphana Universität. It was here that he was able to see a part of the world he had never experienced and opened his eyes to the freedom and beauty the world has to offer. While taking language courses to complete a large part of his German language minor, Raphael was able to take weekend trips to nearby large cities such as Berlin and (his favorite) Cologne(Köln). It is his dream to someday live and work in Germany.Once he returned, he had a fresh drive to succeed and graduate. Raphael worked hard to get out into the world. He graduated from Clemson University in May 2016 with a bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, and a 3.01 GPA. Currently, Raphael works as a Senior Automation Support Engineer for HighRes Biosolutions supporting robotic systems used in biomedical science.His philosophy is "Life is Learning". He is practicing German and started learning Italian and Russian.
