Highest-rated speaker at Law Friends Society immigration conferences.REPORTED CASES∙ R (Gurung) v SSHD [2012] 1 WLR 2546 (CA) - historic injustice principle is based on causation, not the weight to be given to egregious state conduct∙ Ghising and others (Ghurkhas/ BOCs- historic wrong- weight) [2013] UKUT 567 (IAC) - whether historic injustice was causative, and Article 8 family life engaged, historic injustice will normally require a decision in an Appellant's favour∙ R (B) v Brent Youth Court [2010] EWHC 1893 (Admin); [2010] All ER (D) (Jul); (cited in Blackstones) - welfare principle requires a Youth Court to consider repeat bail applications despite the absence of a change in circumstances.∙ Devani v SSHD [2020] 1 WLR 2613 (CA) - whether UT slip rule can reverse disposal, weight to be given to extradition assurances as to prison conditions
