Environmental Justice Lead, September 2024 - presentTransportation Committee Lead, September 2023 - June 2024Collaborated with the First Generation Low-Income Partnership (FLIP) and the Office of Sustainability to run the FLI Drive, which distributes donated household items to students. Ran the $5 Airport Shuttle initiative, which involved fundraising, collecting student data on school break airport plans using surveys, and booking and coordinating shuttles to transport students.

“Hidden Strawberries” is a play sponsored by Stanford Arts and Stanford Doerr School of Sustainability and about the overlooked impacts of wildfires on society.Analyzed interviews conducted with migrant farmworkers to assess this population’s vulnerability to wildfires. Created an informational poster detailing the human health impacts of wildfire particulate matter. Designed a page on AEJ’s Squarespace website to inform about and advertise the “Hidden Strawberries” play. Coordinated with cast and production crew during rehearsals.

Investigated the regulatory effects of mutation of the gene ARID1B on neuronal transcriptomics. Cloned single-guide RNA sequences into the lentiCRISPRv2 plasmid in order to target exon 1 of the mouse ARID1B gene in mouse embryonic stem cells. Presented poster at Stanford Neuroscience Undergraduate Research Opportunity (NeURO) Fellowship Poster Session.

Investigated the potential for heavy metal leaching from artisanal Bangladeshi pots into food to address the possible contribution to elevated blood lead levels in Bangladesh children. Ran trials varying cooking time, temperature, and material type and acidity to determine how these variables affect heavy metal leaching from pots. Conducted acid digestion and ICP-MS to determine the concentration of lead and aluminum in samples.
