At Carlow University, I am resident Data Scientist and Business Intelligence Administrator. This is a very hands-on role, and I am also responsible for overall analytics strategy. In this role I am responsible for the following:• Member of campus wide Strategic Management Committee to advise stakeholders on how to leverage data when making strategic decisions and setting KPIs• Architects and maintains the enterprise data warehouse with both traditional and "big data" methodologies (SSIS, Spark, Python, Azure Data Lake)• Developed models to analyze and predict student enrollment and retention• Organized data from structured and unstructured sources to create an overall picture of profit and loss • Perform statistical analysis to understand the root cause of enrollment, retention and profitability trends • Creates and monitors Business Intelligence and Data infrastructure• Responsible for data quality initiatives. • Works with various data science methods, including regression, decision trees (including ensemble methods) data visualization, model building, unstructured data, statistical analysis, R and Python• Develops new data products delivered via business intelligence tools (Power BI, Business Objects, SQL Reporting Services) and to develop new data • Consult on curriculum development for Health Information Management and Analytics programs

I worked for a Carnegie Mellon University Related Startup, SmartOps, that was purchased by SAP. SmartOps created software to optimize the supply chains of Fortune 100 companies to save inventory costs. At this position, I held several roles, but the data science roles are the ones that I most proud of:• Worked with several Fortune 100 companies as a consultant to analyze demand signals and social media sentiment in order to understand why well-designed products failed when brought to market. • Worked with several Fortune 100 as a consultant to analyze their supply chain data to help them understand there forecast bias better• Examples of large dataset analyzed: Supply chain for an aircraft manufacturer (granularity was down to single screws), retail sales for a large consumer package goods firm (granularity was a single point of sale scan) • Lead a project to design and develop a comprehensive supply chain dashboard in Business Objects• Coded advanced supply chain analytics and lead the effort to integrate those analytics into the rest of the SmartOps product

*I designed a data mart using dimensional analysis that could accept data from multiple source systems. *I designed and developed an ETL process to load data into the SmartOps DataMart. The ETL process took data from the SmartOps Software and merged it with other Data Sources to allow customers to have a complete view of their supply chain. This ETL process also pre-computed statistical analysis on the data mart and ran in SAP Data Services on Oracle. *I was the technical leader of the dash boarding and reporting team. In this capacity, I on boarded new developers, designed and developed dashboards, WebI reports, data cubes and the Business Objects Universe (Semantic Layer). *I worked with pre-sales analysts to analyze customer data to help them determine how the SmartOps algorithms could improve their supply chains
