Communication Officer
- Geographical responsibilities: Sub-Saharan Africa. - Drafting: Press releases (in French and English), Press invitations, Press packs, Articles (Commission en Direct, website…), Op-ed, Speeches, Publications.- Representation of DG ECHO in public events.- Interviews/Front line communication on behalf of the European Commission (radio, TV, press).- Overall coordination of and contributions to ECHO'S Annual Review and to General Report of the European Union.- Regular public presentations/speeches on ECHO given to various audiences: members of regional parliaments, diplomats, Universities students...- Press relations/media plans for Commissioner and Director General missions (e.g.: Haiti, Democratic Republic of Congo…).- Carrying out of interviews with partners and beneficiaries for audiovisual products (Film on ECHO flight service in Democratic Republic of Congo and Kenya) and website.- Assessing of visibility plans of ECHO partners – NGOs, UN agencies and Red Cross movement - Focal point for the ICRC (International Committee of the Red Cross) and IFRC (International Federation of the Red Cross), management and development of joint communication strategies and actions with the ICRC and the IFRC: Cinema clip, photos exhibition, 150th anniversary of the Red Cross in Solferino...- Focal point for OCHA (Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs).- Focal point for the Policy Unit of the Directorate General (ECHO).- Supervision/Management of a various public awareness campaigns in Italy, France, Germany, Romania and Slovenia of an overall value of around € 800,000, generating a significant media impact.- Initiating and coordination of conferences on the “humanitarian space” and the challenges of climate change for humanitarian assistance.- Survey on ECHO’s communication perception by ECHO experts on the field (initiative and drafting of questionnaire).- Media training for colleagues (Desks, experts).
