Dr. Mandelbaum is the CEO and Chief Scientist of LDD Advanced Technologies – which he founded in 1998. Dr. Mandelbaum holds a PhD in Microbiology from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem (1989). Dr. Mandelbaum pursued his post-doctoral work in environmental biotechnology for three years, at Penn State University and at the University of Minnesota. Upon his return to Israel in 1993, he established the Soil Microbiology Laboratory at the Volcani Center and started teaching environmental microbiology at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. Over the years, Dr. Mandelbaum has published over 100 articles related to environmental microbiology, which have been extensively quoted in professional publications world-wide.Dr. Mandelbaum has held public positions, such as elected executive member of the Israeli Society of Ecology and Environmental Sciences; member of the award nomination committee of the Israel Society for Microbiology; member of the Israel-France joint committee on soil and water bioremediation; member of a special team tasked with mitigation of odors from evaporation ponds of the Ramat Hovav Industrial Local Council, etc.Dr. Mandelbaum has led LDD since its establishment to its current leadership position in Israel in consultation and operations in the field of soil and groundwater contaminant remediation. Under his management, the company has built its reputation and market recognition over time among hundreds of private-sector customers in Israel and overseas, as well as government authorities and corporations – including the Ministry of Environmental Protection and the Israel Water Authority – and currently the company has a staff of over 30 expert consultants and planners
