I have a love of engineering, especially when it comes to design. I have experience using engineering programs, primarily AutoCAD, Pro-Engineer, Creo, and Inventor. My education also prepared me to use Six Sigma and Lean methods to increase efficiency in a manufacturing environment. Additionally, I have experience with working as part of a team on a project. During my senior year at Bradley University, I was a part of a team that conducted research on the dangers of airborne silica and provided possible solutions to the employees of the Caterpillar foundry in Mapleton, Illinois. The results of our project were to use tarps and barriers to contain the spread of the silica and vacuums and vents were used to remove the silica from key areas. Also, over the course of the semester, each member of the team got a chance to be the team leader and I feel that my turn as team leader helped prepare me for working as a team leader in a manufacturing environment.My past job experience includes working as a Drafting Technician at Morton Buildings Incorporated. As a Drafting Technician, I used AutoCAD to draw commercial and residential building plans. I also collaborated with other technicians, engineers and sales staff on a daily basis. That position taught me how to use engineering programs like AutoCAD in a professional space as well as furthered my knowledge of the program.I have attained the rank of Eagle Scout in the Boy Scouts of America. To reach the rank, my Eagle Scout Project that I completed was to build two baseball dugouts. Using AutoCAD, I designed the dugouts, arranged materials and tools and oversaw the construction of the project. When constructing the dugouts, I followed plans that I designed and led a small workforce to build the structures.I am eager to utilize my education and work experience as a valued employee. I am a hard worker, eager to learn and have a love for engineering.
