Beta Tester - Light The Way: The Bible
This game was based off of History’s The Bible miniseries and was a hidden object game on Facebook. The beta testing consisted of just playing the game. You had to find the hidden objects in each scene as fast as you could. There was also dialogue from the series and all artwork was taken directly from History. The only way to advance the story was to complete each puzzle to 100%. This meant that you had to replay them multiple times. This was the hardest of the beta tests as I had a very hard time seeing the items, but it was fun overall. The game was removed from Facebook and the LightSide Games website.
Student Worker/Science & Health Lab Tech/Ati Test Proctor/Certified Amp Test Proctor
I cleaned computers, proctored secure nursing Assessment Technologies exams, proctored surgical tech AMP assessment certification/licensing exam (had to be certified by the Surgical Technology Licensing Board), performed general computer maintenance, and managed 25 computers. I also created a training manual for this lab for future workers.
Student Worker/English Lab Tech
Cleaned computers, performed general computer maintenance, gave first day orientations, assisted students with creation of English compositions and other assignments, managed 25 computers along with color printer, and scanner.
Beta Tester - Warpforce
WarpForce is an official expansion of their flagship title “AdventureQuest” and a direct correlation to the Devourer Storyline. The beta was released in June of 2009 and followed a similar pattern to the one I participated in for MechQuest. The biggest difference had to do with vehicles. In MechQuest, you piloted mechs, while in WarpForce, you pilot your own starship. For the beta, most of the battle controls were tested, along with a special control for FPS style space battling (in this case, shooting enemy ships from the cockpit of your ship). This game was more refined than MechQuest and we had more available to us when testing. As a thank you for testing, all accounts were made Warp Guardians (similar to Star Captain accounts) and appropriate designations were made. I still play these games when I can and love it when new content is released.
Zeta/Beta Tester - Zomg! Mmo
zOMG! is a MMO run off the Gaia Online website and community. It was meant to be a gathering place for the members of the Gaia Online community where you could go on quests, battle monsters, dungeon crawl, create guilds, use recipes to create rings, and collect/trade items.
Beta Tester - Mechquest
This is a single-player RPG where you are a mech pilot from an unknown area, and will be attending G.E.A.R.S University on the planet Loren. You have lightsabre type weapons, a blaster, and other weapons along with your customizable mech. Your job, while you attend classes, is to defend Loren and the universe from the ShadowScythe. The beta test (which started on 29 November 2007) for this game consisted of learning the controls, exploring Loren and your battleship (home base), and buying items. Most of the advanced features like combat, and university classes were not part of this beta. The beta that players tested was very choppy and the artwork was very unrefined. Issues with entering buildings and buying items abounded, but were quickly fixed. At the end of the beta, all players were made “Star Captains” (which is the onetime fee paid for designation with all of its goodies) and received “Founders” designation. This designation included recognition in the beginning of the game, and a really cool badge.
