Café Plus Cerrado Mineiro is an extension program created in 2017 at the Federal University of Viçosa, Rio Paranaíba campus, aiming to serve coffee growers in the upper Paranaíba and region in accordance with environmental laws and develop sustainable management of their properties. The program also develops research activities and partnerships in order to develop the production of specialty coffees for the cerrado region.Activities performed*Organizing documents, updating data and collecting signatures;*Working on weeding, pruning, application of agrochemicals, fertilizing, manual coffee harvesting and processing;*Producing lectures for other students (in person and distance) on Sustainability, Agrochemicals and Waste, Rural Constructions, Labor Legislation, NR 9 and NR 31;*Preparation of invitations and sponsorship letters for Workshops;*Searching for budgets for coffee breaks and decoration for the Workshops*Applying check-lists in family agriculture farms, aiming at a possible certification and adding value to the final product*Participation in courses on post-harvest, ecophysiology and coffee tasting; and*Participation in the dissemination of events in social networks.

Biofitomol is a laboratory focused on enzyme analysis in plants and insects, molecular diagnostics of plant diseases and plant molecular genetics. The main research lines are: biochemical interactions in plant-pathogen and plant-insect relationships; molecular diagnostics in plant pathology and nematology; molecular genetics and plant breeding. The main laboratory techniques involve the use of enzymatic assays, use of molecular markers for pathogen identification, and molecular marker assisted selection.
