CashierThe Home Depot Aug 2022 - May 2023Oak Ridge, Tennessee, United StatesI had to have great customer service skills to interact with the various people that came into the store. I had to be thorough and accurate when ringing up customer's items. Also kept an eye out if a customer stole to report it in the theft portal. I had to be careful when dealing with money. Made sure the customer gave the correct amount and gave them back their change. When there was too much money in the register I would carefully count the money to send to the vault. I tried to encourage and help customers to apply for Home Depot credit cards. I listened to each customer needs. This way I could charge their purchase the way they wanted, if it needed to be tax exempted, paid with a check or if they needed a job name with the purchase. I also helped out with the kids workshop that takes place every first Saturday of the month. I had to help prep the area the kids built their kits. Kept log of all the kids that came and kits used. I had to order more supplies before the next kids workshop and made sure we stayed well stocked on items. -
Fisheries Biological AideIdaho Fish And Game Jun 2020 - Aug 2020Nampa, Idaho, United StatesI worked about 4 to 5 days out of the week where I backpacked 4 plus miles daily in high mountain lakes all across Idaho to take surveys and tag fish. I was also trained in electrofishing streams and catching fish to gather data about Brooke trout that are invasive species in that area. I took data and kept record of the fish, streams, different areas we worked in. I camped in various mountains and forest across Idaho for 4-5 days every week. I also collected fish clippings at different reservoirs for chinook salmon. As well as, clipped small hatchery Brooke trout fins so that the fish could be identified as hatchery fish once they were released. I had to have organization skills to help pack and prepare for each weeks work and to unload from that weeks work to clean and put things away. Team work was one of the most important skills I needed since I worked in a crew with at least 5 other people to get our jobs done. We had to fully rely on each other being in the middle of the forests together. -

Spanish MissionaryThe Church Of Jesus Christ Of Latter-Day Saints Oct 2015 - Apr 2017Toronto, Canada AreaI lived in many different areas in the Provence of Ontario, Canada. For the 18 months I was in Canada I worked every day from 13 hours a day serving those around the area I was located. While I was there I did service for anyone that needed it or asked for the help. I did things such as yard/farm work to painting homes. I had to develop time management skills to be able to use the time I had to work effectively. I did a lot of event planning with preparing lessons that I taught to people or activities that we helped put together with the church organization. I helped teach English as a second language to people that moved to Canada and did not know the language well enough. There was a lot of paperwork that I had to fill out. I recorded the lessons we taught and how that went with each student. I recorded their progress in grasping the different concepts. As well as organized those different papers. I thoroughly taught people according to their needs and level of comprehension. I worked with many different people with diverse backgrounds and able to adapt to their cultures. I mainly worked with people that were from Spanish speaking countries. Through this I was able to obtained fluency in conversational Spanish within 6 months. As I was in Canada for those 18 months I faced a lot of opposition with the weather or work, but I continued to work diligently. -
Teachers AideGolden Oak Montessori Elementary School Oct 2013 - Feb 2014Hayward, CaliforniaIn this job I helped out in the classrooms. I would make copies for different lesson plans that the teacher put together. There were times when I even had to organize different things around the classroom like the bookshelf or supplies. I was also able interact with the children. Sometimes I would walk around when they were doing work to ask if anyone need help. I helped them with their essays, math and history assignments.I also gave a lesson once along with an activity on hieroglyphics. I even did reading circles, which is where I have about three to four kids at a time and we read. I would take notes on how each kid was doing and try to help them improve with each time we would do the reading circle.
