As a supervisor I am responsible for a classroom of six children who have autism and their individual support workers. I implement programming and schedules, ensure the safety of staff and clients, as well as, coordinate the day-to-day activities for my classroom.

During this clinical placement I will be conducting assessments and providing speech therapy to elementary school students with a language and/or speech impairment.

Throughout these clinical placements I conducted assessments and provided speech therapy services to a young child with a mild stutter (fluency disorder area) and a woman with vocal nodules (voice/resonance area).

During this clinical placement I conducted assessments and provided speech therapy to individuals who had an acquired language disorder (e.g., from a stroke or TBI), a motor speech disorder, or dysphagia/ a swallowing disorder.

As an in-home support worker I was responsible for the safety, hygiene, well being, and overall care of a boy with low-functioning autism. He had high needs and was non-verbal. I worked on social skills, life skills, communication, and academics with him at home. We also went on outings into the community to promote inclusion. He required the use of the Proloquo2Go iPad program for his augmentative communication device. I also used to work with a young boy who had oppositional deviant disorder (ODD).
