Inpatient PRN OT

Working with SOKS to complete an inclusive health needs assessment through a local health agency. This role also allows me to expand on capstone project previously completed which aimed to improve health literacy of athletes and families while advocating for inclusive healthcare within the community. As a part of the role, I am also assisting in SOKS event planning and management as needed.

Completed my capstone project focused on assessing and improving health literacy education and inclusive health advocacy within athletes, families, the agency, and community partners. Completed 3 original resources to improve health literacy and advocacy in healthcare. provided education in multiple formats following universal design standards to meet a variety of learning needs. Collaborated with community partners to disseminate resources and information gathered in order to spread awareness of the importance of health literacy, inclusive health, and universal design.

Acted as a medical scribe for up to 3 doctors during their appointments. Also acted as a tech conducting pre-screenings of clients and charts providing each doctor with a comprehensive summary before initial contact.

Conducted twice weekly dance fitness classes for KU students and staff. Created routines and movement adaptations for each session as needed. Collaborated with fellow instructors to fill in classes when necessary.

Provided customer support to students, parents, and customers of the many insurance plans offered. Also had the opportunity to assist in creation and implementation of waiver application management software for the school based insurance plans.
