Higher Education Advisor
CurrentThe primary responsibility of the Higher Education Advisor is to prepare urban youth, academically and socially, to pursue their post-secondary aspirations. This primarily involves supporting a college‐going culture on the assigned high school campus. Higher Education Advisors assist students in all college preparatory activities (applications for admission, scholarships, SAT/ACT testing, etc.) to ensure students are prepared to enter and graduate from college. Higher Education Advisors connect high school students with the financial and social resources necessary to make college matriculation and graduation a reality. The ideal candidate will have experience working with youth in a counseling, high school, or college setting. Experience in college admissions or school counseling is preferred. Candidates must have great analytical, writing, and project management skills. Finally, the ideal candidate must have the ability to influence and motivate young people on the value and benefits of college.
