Responsible for the overall strategy and operations for the World Hepatitis Alliance programmes, partnership developments, fundraising and fulfilment of its mission. ** As a result of our advocacy work, 194 governments committed in 2016 to eliminating viral hepatitis by 2030. Together with our members and key partners, I led the charge to ensure the world delivers on this commitment by: 1. Ensuring that the voices of viral hepatitis patients are at the forefront of national and globalhealth discussions2. Providing global leadership in advocating for a higher profile and priority for viral hepatitis 3. Raising awareness, particularly through World Hepatitis Day and Nohep, our global elimination movement4. Working with the World Health Organization, their regional offices and other key partners to support governments in combating viral hepatitis5. Working directly with governments to help them establish/implement effective national strategies6. Supporting national hepatitis NGOs with capacity & capability building7. Reducing the stigma & discrimination associated with chronic viral hepatitis by improving education8. Fighting for access to testing, treatment and care for all (ensuring no group is left behind; children, indigenous communities, prisoners, IDUs, migrants etc.) 9. Working with key stakeholders in the area of access to diagnostics, vaccines and new therapies 10. Briefing WHO about the hepatitis community, representing the patient voice at key meetings and facilitating important connections 2. Organising/coordinating a high level satellite meeting on hepatitis with the Brazilian Ministry of Health (66th World Health Assembly in 2013)3. Supporting the Brazilian Ministry of Health with the drafting, development & adoption of a new hepatitis resolution (unanimously ratified during the 67th World Health Assembly, 2014)4. Creating/implementing a communications plan, focusing on strengthening partnerships (internal/external) and raising the profile of the Program (incl. developing new communication tools and doing a website review)5. Supporting WHO’s central communications team with respect to the coordination of World Hepatitis Day
