This role is responsible for working across Plan International to develop, oversee and implement key finance initiatives that strengthen financial performance and the financial sustainability of the organisation. Currently undertaking the lead on initiatives that have global impact and organisation wide reach, while supporting management and mitigation of financial risk that are at the top of the International Board’s agenda in order to increase organisational sustainability for greater impact.Leading a global funding model initiative consisting of 11 design areas including, Global Account Management, Global Fundraising, Investment Fund, Transparency & Efficiency, Quality Income, Locally Led Fundraising etc. across 52 country and 20 national offices.Strategic internal and external stakeholder engagement across the organisation, including Plan's National Organisations, Regional Offices, Country Offices and the Global Hubs. This includes engagement with the International Board, the Finance and Audit Committee, the Global Leadership Team, and National Directors’ Team.Working across functions and departments to support with financial analysis and modelling of business cases, potential mergers and key strategic projects to advise on feasibility and track benefits.

Managed Plan’s largest USAID grant at the time for over USD 50million over 5 years with resource structure, policies and procedures.Increased fundraising for the South Sudan refugee response programme from €600k to over €9m per year.Led transformational change and restructuring process to build strong and resilient country operations team – Winning the Global Team of the Year award in 2017.Manage country operations with annual budget of more than €17m, with diverse grant portfolio from private, multilateral, corporate and bilateral donors.

Manage the country operations including Plan programs in Pakistan while providing leadership to over 250 staff with annual budget of over €20million p.a. Managed a diverse grant portfolio from private, multilateral and bilateral donors such USAID, UNICEF, UNHCR, UNWOMEN, DFID, EC, GAC, and DFAT. Successful delivery of a £5 million p.a. payments by results consortium with DFID and corporate partners.Led the country office transformation to bring about optimal efficiency to delivery on the country strategy.

Leading country finance and business initiatives for South & East Asia & Haiti operations managing a portfolio of over $35million per year.Led the restructuring / decentralisation of the Finance and Admin departments to allow for effective and timely support to programs. Maintaining transparency in the process and allowing manager more authority along with accountability.Provided oversight and supervision for strengthening operations in Haiti while developing and implementing emergency procurement, financial and HR proceduresConducting process review of all internal controls and risks associated and to follow up with course of action to mitigate such risks, while allowing the need of relief operations to continue unhindered.

Heading support departments of Finance, Admin, HR and ICT to act as business partners that provide operational support and insights into data, trends, business analytics and risk control in Pakistan, Philippines, Vietnam and Haiti.Developed and initiated improvements in processes and systems to increase operational and financial efficiency and maximising resources to ensure efficiency, value for money, internal controls, while working with HR, procurement, logistics, and grant deptsServed as Acting Country Director during two extended periods (Feb 2005 – Sept 2005; Mar 2008 to July 2008), as well as active member of Plan’s world-wide emergency response team.Managed the successful rollout of operational emergency preparedness policies and procedures for Pakistan, including design input to regional and HQ levels.Established standardised financial reporting tools to measure cost efficiency, effectiveness and key performance measures and indicators.

Managed financial requirements of 18 diversified Group Businesses with an annual turnover in excess of $25 million. Provide practical, effective, and innovative solutions during volatile periods for the Group, leading to the successful restructuring of group debt with local and international lenders. The restructuring of loans with local consortia of banks for more than $15 million, resulting in annual savings greater than $750,000.Successfully launched the Group’s first Term Finance Certificates in the local market for local currency 1.0 billion (equivalent US$15 million).Assumed additional responsibility as Chief Internal Auditor for one of the listed companies on the Karachi Stock Exchange.
