I worked on economic loss claims which resulted from the 2010 BP Oil Spill. This job required a great deal of organization and attention to detail as the settlement agreement was quite extensive and had various addenda which had to be adhered to. I analyzed financial documents, conducted research, drafted requests for fraud investigations, verified information, and thoroughly reviewed claimant files to ensure each claim complied with the requirements set forth by the settlement agreement. I analyzed submissions including, but not limited to various trust documents, bankruptcy documents, court orders, lien documents, business representation and legal authority documents. I conducted various outreach tasks which includes contacting attorneys on various issues regarding claimants and working with the Department of Justice to assist in investigations. Lastly, I conduct audit reviews and quality assurance reviews of claims in preparation of distribution of funds to eligible claimants and re-reviews of claims where claimants ask for reconsideration.
