Heritage sites are not confined to isolated landscapes, they often co-exist with bustling urban environments or remote rural settings. Given the diverse challenges faced by each heritage site, relating to its location and setting, Heritage Bye-laws are prepared for the Centrally Protected Monuments. My present role includes drafting of Heritage bye-laws for the Centrally Protected Monuments. This requires to undertake research and frame guidelines related to height controls/ land use/ building uses, etc., through Master plans, building control regulations, etc. of various states/cities of India.

The studio focused on an evidence-based approach for framing and exploring complex urban situations and problems. Assisted faculties with preparing input lectures on topics related to urban dynamics, such as jobs, housing, etc. Delivered hands-on instruction in ArcGIS (a spatial analysis tool), by introducing the fundamental principles behind spatial analysis, such as geographic data types, coordinate systems, and data manipulation techniques. Guided through the ArcGIS interface, highlighting key features and functionalities relevant to spatial analysis tasks.Winter School: 5 day tour to Hong Kong (a special administrative region of the People's Republic of China) to learn about its comprehensive urban planning system, through the lens of MTR (Mass Transit Railway), a vital component of Hong Kong’s transportation infrastructure.

Directed Research Project (DRP) - Masters of Urban Planning, 4th semester.“Research on distinct coherent built forms developed around the 19th Century in Indian Towns”The aim of the study was to enquire into the urban forms that emerged in certain Indian cities during the 19th century. Archival research was conducted at various State Archives, the National Archives, and the National Library to collect byelaws/ plans/ sketches/ photographs to comprehend the overall formation of the identified places of research.

Baseline assessment for institutional and governance arrangements for bulk water supply systems of cities of different states of India; key takeaway for the Indian audience from the bulk water supply scheme (RWSS-Regional Water Supply Scheme) of Indonesia - the SPAM-R schemes; proposals for unique and unconventional Smart City Projects.

Dealt with Master plans, building control regulations, etc. of various cities of eastern region like Aizawl, Bhubaneswar, Guwahati, Kolkata, Patna, and Ranchi, for framing guidelines related to height controls/ FSI/ land use/ building uses, etc., and prepared more than 60 draft heritage bye-laws for Centrally Protected Monuments under various circle offices of Archaeological Survey of India; Examining the plans and drawings submitted by NOC applicants; scrutiny of online NOC applications submitted; prepared maps and write-ups for archaeological sites; examining/ scrutinizing Archaeological Heritage Impact Assessment Report submitted by NOC Applicant and duly prepared by INTACH, REACH Foundation & other recognized institutes.
