The pharmacy was underperforming and struggling to complete tasks on time. I made changes within my first two weeks of starting, to improve this immediately. My organisation and prioritising resulted in a very efficient daily routine and a positive atmosphere. I introduced new processes and audits, provided extra training to colleagues and initiated a weekly meeting where they could put forward any ideas. These changes resulted in the ability to extend our services further to more patients and reach prescription targets and increase over the counter revenue. Within six months, the pharmacy has achieved a prescription growth of 40 percent and taken on two new care homes, one of which involves electronic medicine administration records. I took the opportunity to engage with representatives from several pharmaceutical companies during our conference. I was also involved in of one of the first pharmacy clinical trials, recruiting patients to a cough study where the product has since been marketed and launched as UniCough.The pharmacy became EPS2 live and I facilitated the engagement of my staff members through training and regularly attending local meetings at surgeries. March 2015 – January 2017 Branch Manager (Relocation inside surgery)The pharmacy had undergone a relocation inside a surgery and I successfully moved from a large independent shop to a smaller dispensary whilst maintaining the same professional service provided to customers. This move allowed me to continually increase prescription figures as patients of the surgery were impressed with our prompt service and ease at which they could order and receive their medication. I liaised with doctors directly for queries and to provide advice, offering emergency deliveries for patients in their time of need, thus increasing both the doctors and the patients’ confidence in the pharmacy. I continued to promote EPS2 prescriptions and provided the enhanced services offered in our previous branch. I am willing to learn and train in new projects commissioned by our local CCG.
