After completing my B.E. in Computer Engineering from Pune University, I worked at HSBC Global Technology for 6 years. I was primarily involved in implementations of internet banking applications for entities in HSBC like the Channel Islands, France, the UAE, Egypt, Mexico and Malta. My career involved leading and collaborating with teams across various geographical locations. I have also led a team of 2 people to deliver a module which was part of implementing an account opening application for the UAE during a global rollout.I pursued a dual masters in Computer Science and Journalism at Columbia University and graduated in May 2013. My primary goal is to be involved in developing technological solutions (applications and tools) which would be used mainly for reporting, writing and producing reportage. The program at Columbia University should give me a nuanced understanding of how the news media can leverage technology in newer and better ways.I interned at AOL Patch from June 2012 to May 2013. During my stint, I have written advertorial and editorial content for various Patch sites, designed tools that help Patch editors create election-related content and researched voting trends in various states for the elections project.
