I was the former Chief Executive Officer for the Cities of Moonee Valley and Darebin from 2007-2016 (9+ years). Additionally I have both Private & Public Sector Senior Executive experience at various Victorian Municipalities in a consultancy capacity from 1986 – 2007 (21+ years). Further to this I was also a Compliance (Technical) Advisor for the Bahrain Federal Government from 1979 – 1985 (7+ years). As a result I have 25 years Victorian Municipal Management experience. I have a diverse range of skills, experiences, abilities, qualifications and networks locally and globally. Collaborations with 19 Mayors and numerous Senior professionals for more than two decades have enabled me to create value for the citizens of Victorian through a range of community initiatives that improve health, education and wellbeing while ensuring value for money at all times. An example of this was policy development of life saving level crossing initiatives in Victoria that I contributed to. My experience in local Government spans three decades and I have a proud track record of sound financial management, improvements in occupational health and safety and infrastructure project deployment. I have played a significant role in many large and iconic projects in Victoria ranging from the Southbank transformation to Melbourne Central and Essendon Airport enhancements. I am a certified Civil Engineer with Masters Degrees in Urban Planning & Project Management as well as Graduate Diplomas of Business Management and Municipal Engineering and Management and am currently completing my MBA. I am also a Member/Fellow of numerous Professional bodies including AICD in Australia, UK and USA.
