Rathan Sam George is currently the President - Global Productions at Toonz Media Group responsible for executing the business strategy and creative direction for Entertainment operations in New Zealand, & Australasia.He comes with 23 years of experience and has been with group since 2000 till date. He has headed and managed multi-million-dollar relationships, in tandem with managing operational responsibilities, including financial, development, creative, and planning. He was also directly responsible for the development of IPs, spearheading the creative department and supervising the production of various animated shows - from acclaimed television specials to full length DVD feature films. Have produced animation, both 3D and 2D (traditional & Digital), for global entertainment majors like Nickelodeon, Discovery, Lionsgate, TV Asahi, Marvel, True Corp, TVNZ, TV3, BBC, Sony Entertainment, Lionsgate.His background at Toonz Media Group includes 3 years in the Creative Development, 20 years of operational development for both domestic and international market holding various positions from Associate Producer, Line Producer, Producer, VP Operations & Director Operations, and 4 years till date as the Business development, Executive Producer & COO, in diverse markets as Australasia, Southeast Asia, Europe NZ & USA. In these years he has liaison with an extensive number of industry professionals ranging from senior and mid-level executives in television, producers, creators, content aggregation outfits, and movie studios across the globe.
