As a passionate advocate for innovation in healthcare, biotechnology, and entrepreneurship, I have dedicated my career to tackling one of the world’s most pressing health challenges: antimicrobial resistance (AMR). I serve as the Managing Director and co-owner of BioChimPharm, a pioneering biopharmaceutical company that produces bacteriophage-based novel antibiotics—an area with incredible potential for transforming global health.BioChimPharm is rooted in a long history of bacteriophage research and production, dating back to 1934 in Tbilisi, Georgia, home to the world’s first institution dedicated to phage technology. Today, we are modernizing this legacy through cutting-edge innovation, having recently invested over 6.5 million euros to fully automate and scale our manufacturing process. Our work is more relevant than ever, with bacteriophages offering a powerful, natural solution to combat drug-resistant infections.I have been privileged to contribute to this mission, not only through leadership roles in the company but also by advocating for phage technology as a viable alternative to antibiotics across global platforms.
