Rauan Kenzhekhan is the founder and CEO at Bilim Media Group (BMG).BMG is a leading education technology (EdTech) and service provider in Kazakhstan and Central Asia. The company develops technology and content with the mission to provide quality education for everyone. Currently BMG has over 15K subscribed schools and 2.9 million individual users.Rauan Kenzhekhan is a founder of several non-for-profit projects with the mission to give free access to information and knowledge recourses to people in remote places in their native languages. In 2011 he was named Global Wikipedian and awarded by the founder of Wikipedia Jimmy Wales for the contribution to providing free access to the sum of human knowledge. In 2012-2015 Rauan and his team in cooperation with Google managed to add Kazakh language to Google Translate, later on Google Translate Toolkit that was built for this purpose allowed other 15+ languages to enter Google Translate. The National Bureau of Translations founded by Rauan Kenzhekhan translated over 100 textbooks published by the most prestigious global publishers in 20+ subjects to Kazakh language. Translated textbooks with a print-run of over 1 million copies were delivered to schools and universities for free.Bilim Foundation initiated by Rauan Kenzhekhan in cooperation with UNICEF manages nationwide program on strengthening mental health and life skills among children.Rauan Kenzhekhan has a broad and extensive experience in social business and tech entrepreneurship, as well as in public service, diplomacy and journalism. In 2014-2016 he worked as a deputy governor in Kygylorda province (Kazakhstan), previously served as an adviser to the governor of the Mangystau region (Kazakhstan), counselling on domestic and foreign policy issues. Prior to public service Rauan Kenzhekhan served as a director of broadcasting company, worked for two years as first secretary at the embassy of the Republic of Kazakhstan to Russian Federation in Moscow. Had served as a chief of the Moscow bureau of the National TV Agency.He holds an MBA from Russian Academy of National Economy. In 2010-2011 was a fellow at the Weatherhead Center for International Affairs at Harvard University.Member of YPO Kazakhstan.
