My name is Raúl Herrero Muela and I am a telecommunications engineer graduated from the Polytechnic University of Madrid (UPM). Since high school, I was attracted to mathematics and physics because of the abstraction capacity they provide. I am motivated to know the why of the things I work with and study, understanding the basis on which they are based.During my degree, in addition to consolidating my passion for mathematics and physics, I discovered a new interest in programming and electronics. These areas, previously unknown to me, gave me a renewed vision of the possibilities of engineering. I acquired solid knowledge in programming languages such as C, C++, Java, and MATLAB.Within the field of telecommunications, I was particularly interested in acoustic engineering. I worked for some months in the company TasValor Medio Ambiente, which led me to specialize in this area through the master's degree in acoustic engineering at the Polytechnic University of Madrid (UPM). During this postgraduate course, I started working at Iberacústica as a vibroacoustic engineer, participating in acoustic environment modeling projects, noise assessment and carrying out innovative research. One of these projects involved performing acoustic measurements in hard-to-reach locations using drones, where I implemented signal processing techniques in Python for the first time to address drone-generated noise.After experimenting in the acoustic engineering sector, I decided to make a switch to a field that had long held my attention: artificial intelligence (AI). Before making this decision, I completed several courses on Deep Learning and feeling that I understood the concepts, I opted to train academically in AI through the master's degree in artificial intelligence at the International University of La Rioja (UNIR).In this master's degree, I specialized in areas such as machine learning, computer vision and autonomous reasoning, building on my previous experience in telecommunications engineering specializing in sound and image. This led me to pursue job opportunities in projects combining computer vision with Deep Learning, which led me to my current position.
