I've worked with different kinds of projects and systems during my years as a test engineer at Airbus.After finishing my master thesis, I kept working with End-to-End Encryption systems, testing that the functionality was working as required, as well as testing the capacity, reporting defects and following up on fixes.Later on I moved to another area of telecom, this time, it was the Base Station. During this time, I was testing the correct functionality of IP encrypted communication on point-to-point networks between the aforementioned Base Stations and the core sites, at the same time, I was also testing general security features and security in general of that product, verifying that the security requirements were implemented as expected.Lately, I've been working with voice transcoding functions inside of telecom exchange servers, where we have modernized the infrastructure to run virtualized on premises, and therefore integration and functionality needs to be verified.I've also been dipping my feet into test automation development and that is something to come in bigger proportion in the near future for my role in this job.

In this company, I started as a summer trainee in 2014 and kept working as part of the maintenance & verification teams for cellular radio systems used by safety and security organizations.At the beginning I was doing functional testing of system corrections performed after the customer has reported errors in our products and the errors have been fixed, as well as regression testing of new versions of our systems. In order to do this, I have learned to use different part of the system such as telephone exchanges, base stations, terminals (radios and dispatchers) and other devices concerning TETRA technology, I have also interacted with general purpose external systems which add services to our systems, such as Linux computers and Windows servers.Later, I did work related to my thesis, in which we were implementing a solution to deliver encryption keys over the air to subscribers, this kind of work comprises several parts of the systems due to the end-to-end nature of the solution. My specific part during my thesis has been to learn, configure and manage the Key Management Facility server for the capacity testing performed in Helsinki, as well as being involved of the air interface and telephone exchange capacity testing planning.

I was part of two teams in different time frames, for the first year I was in the Environments support team where I was assigned to several applications in several environments, I used to take care of those applications, and ensure that they were properly working before migrate them to the next test environment or production, I had to troubleshoot and fix them when they got broken.In the Configuration Management team, my role was to manage general webserver configurations, also build and deploy applications using clear case as version control system and WebSphere to build the applications from it.

Fixing equipment related to the operations at the sea’s petrol wells. I was mainly in the electronics and mechanics warehouse giving maintenance to an equipment called “Tractor” which is used to clean, cut or fix the insides of the petrol wells, this job was related mostly to electronics.

I worked mainly with 3 kinds of appliances from a certain brand of servers focused exclusively on Email systems, with a customized Operating System built over a Linux base; these were Message Server, Anti-spam Server, and Archiving Server.
