(7th Grade Math Teacher Assistant) A) Support the lead math teacher with teaching, class management, and course planning. 1) To keep all classes up to date the lead teacher would lecture as I individually helped any students who would fall back or were distracting the classroom from focusing. 2) Before the summer school program started, we were given a class outline to follow. The lead teacher and I filtered what lessons to teach and replace with our own ideas. B) Encourage at risk youth to strive for educational success and see you as a supportive role model. 1) Always pushed the idea of pursuing college and trying their hardest on every assignment. 2) If any student felt down or had an emotional breakdown, I would always try to talk it out with them and be the teacher they could trust.
