Raul Diaz is Sr. Principal Engineer at Intel Corporation in the Network and Edge Group’s Office of the CTO, where he leads the video and AI software architecture team. He has worked for over 30 years on video compression, AI-based video processing, computer vision, media transport, and IoT with 14 US patents issued, 4 patents pending, papers published with the Society of Motion Picture and Television Engineers (SMPTE), and many technical conference presentations.Raul has a BSEE from Yale University, has guest-lectured for several years at Stanford University on Computer Vision and Deep Learning, and is a member of IEEE. He joined Intel in 2019.Previously, Raul was Senior Vice President of Computer Vision and Machine Learning at Ittiam where he built and led a team that developed a cloud-scalable video analytics platform.Raul has helped take a company public (InterVideo, IVII: NASDAQ 2003), started and sold his own company (Tomnica sold to ArcSoft in 2010), and been brought in as CEO to turn around and sell a company (Vanguard Video sold to Beamr in 2015/2016).
