A career timeline built from the work history available for this profile.
Systems Engineer Airframe
• Requirements Management: Owner of system and component level requirement documents to have set of unambiguous, measurable & traceable requirements. Working closely with different stakeholders to optimize system definition considering key factors such as usability, maintenance, costs & timeline.• Supplier system life cycle management: Supplier coordination activities ensuring smooth development of the product with all relevant requirements met and shown compliance to. Developing ATPs and ATRs to ensure continued and consistent delivery of parts in quality control aspects providing design authorizations for in service nonconformities. Organizing PFMEA to identify and mitigate risks.• Compliance Demonstration: Developing compliance demonstration strategies for type certification of aircraft (according to SC VTOL, CS23, CS27) and getting the Means of compliance (MoC) deliverables approved by EASA structural panel experts. Development of Certification plans for system, Qualification plans for the subsystems and Test plans/Test Reports for Laboratory testing.• Validation and Verification / Test Campaign: Together with the team analyse, plan and execute test campaigns ranging from coupon level testing to sub-system level test to system level test as well as full scale fuselage testing for static & dynamic cases.• Tests Included: Full scale fuselage tests, Detailed tests on all primary structures, occupant safety tests, Battery integration tests, dynamic landing gear drop tests etc.
Master Thesis - Cockpit Design, Ergonomics And Development Of A Non-Conventional Evtol Aircraft
Key Achievement: Awarded an excellent grade of 1.0 and the design inputs directly used in the Voloregion aircraft for the further development.• Physical and Cognitive Human factors: Breaking down of higher-level requirement and implementing them to define the layout of the cockpit. Placement of necessary sub systems and equipment necessary for occupant safety and pilot operation.• Structural design: Field of view analysis for the pilot in coordination with ensuring structurally no single point of failure of a primary load path (A pillar in this case) leads to catastrophic failure of the aircraft. Placement of windshield, side windows and floor windows according to AC27 certification & inputs from ADAC test pilots.• Rapid prototyping and manufacturing drawings Developed a detailed ergonomic CAD model of the cockpit layout with flight deck and assembled a physical mock-up of the cockpit to freeze the hard points. Using pragmatic quick and easy methods to assemble the mock-up in such a way that it allowed quick implementation and trials of changes in the design when required. Completion of the sizing of the validated frozen parts with the stress team & preparation of manufacturing drawing sheets.
Cockpit Design Intern
Key Achievement: Created the first conceptual proposal of the cockpit layup which was reviewed by the whole squad of 48 ADAC rescue pilots for a rescue configuration aircraft. This was an instrumental step in defining correct cockpit layout product requirements for the first emergency rescue eVTOL for the customer.• Decision making using trade-off analyses and engineering judgement: As an output from the workshop, defined critical aircraft entry height & cabin height and step height for comfortable aircraft entry considering 5 to 95 percentile population.• Seat placement and design: Developed different user-centred pilot-passenger seating configurations and pilot control stick and workstation configuration for different percentile population. Performed calculations for different reach zones and introduced a seat track for ergonomic accommodation and operability of pilots.
Graduate Trainee Engineer
Key Achievement: Implementing new position of the cross members on the frame to improve reliability during overload cases and significantly improving chassis strength.• Structural Design: Implementing innovative design for improvement of the existing agricultural tractors chassis with a focus on reliability & cost while not affecting the current performance of the component. Sizing the modified parts using FEM (finite elements methods) in ANSYS & modification of the Digital mock-up unit (DMU)• Cross functional working: Preparation of part drawing and installation drawing and coordinating with production engineering to ensure smooth entry into service.
Formula Student
Project management: As the Project manager, planning a development timeline based on the race deadlines & ensuring on-track status for all individual systems submissions. Making sure the team complies to the requirements specification of the rules specified by Formula Hybrid Association, USA. • Design and Hands-on in workshop: Development of a lightweight aluminum chassis according to the space budget and positioning of the different systems. Reinforcing the frame with cross members to ensure the structure can sustain prescribed loads as specified in the handbook. Procurement of tubes & welding as per the design on shopfloor.
