At this special after-school children age 4 till 11 get to play outdoors and get to experience the outdoors and learn valuable self-reliance skills such as working with knives and cooking with fire aswell as climbing trees all within the proximity of Amsterdam. My contribution is to both educate and entertain children through different (mostly bushcraft related) activities aswell as training new employees to develop their bushcraft skills so they can also pass on these skills to the children we cater to. Other responsibilities include monitoring and documenting children's wellbeing and personal growth and developing activity programs that stimulate specific developmental criteria.

Apart from crafting traditional bows and arrows, I also organize workshops for traditional archery at festivals, fairs, in-company workshops, workshops for children etc. These workshops provide a great opportunity to learn more about the traditional craft of bow making and practice of archery, history and culture, different materials and a great exercise.

The items I make are handcrafted from materials that most people would consider little more than firewood and scrap metal.It all started in 2006 when I needed a specific prop for a video production. What started as a small project soon became much bigger than first expected. In my work I make use of traditional techniques and natural materials.Although many of the items have been made for use in the movies, most of them are fully functional and are perfect reproductions of historical pieces. Combination of my love for history and archery as a sport discipline lead me to try out and master different traditional techniques and materials used throughout the different ages around the world. Working with natural materials, like the many different species of wood but also bone, horn and metal, this means for me respecting the characteristic properties of these materials and bringing out their unique beauty.
