• Assumed this position as a result of the Salomon Brothers and Smith Barney merger and was promoted to First Vice President in 1999 and to Senior Vice President in 2000. Grew from managing a team of 14 to managing a team of 80 with six direct reports. • Responsible for global securities lending and equity prime brokerage systems, including transition management, CRM, risk management, and cross-product margining applications. Had the additional responsibility of building a swap trading platform for the company to expand the desk’s structured finance business. • Served on several corporate technology committees involving technology management, project management, IT risk management, and architecture. • Responsible for creating and managing MATRIX, Citigroup's global securities lending platform. MATRIX supported about 400 users in front-office trading, middle-office operations, regulatory control, financial control, treasury, and trade support for various trading desks. • Devised breakthrough approaches in inter-company booking and short interest allocation and maximized profitability for the desk. Implemented EQUAL, the short interest allocator for the firm, and the P&L system for the Securities Lending desk. • Implemented a real-time inventory system for the global platform, linked to over 100 availability sources, and enabled a real-time position match system for doing electronic locates.KEY ACCOMPLISHMENTS:• Created a unique platform in the securities lending industry by consolidating six systems, brought together by the merger of Salomon Brothers and Smith Barney, into an integrated suite that covers end-to-end processing of securities lending transactions. Streamlined business flows by offering localized screens, reports, and websites for Tokyo, Frankfurt, and Sydney by implementing enhancements to meet local regulatory needs.
