Working with OSGi, Karaf, and JEE - CXF, ActiveMQ, JAX-RS

As a senior member of the team, consulted on the design of various parts of the system, regularly contributed to code reviews, and assisted other members of the team.- Implemented portions of an OSGi service that provided JMS-based messaging, built using ActiveMQ.- Implemented portions of several services, and their corresponding clients, which usedRMI for remoting and were configured using Spring.- Developed a best-practices based approach to making the widespread use of OSGi services & Spring DM configuration in the product much more robust- Implemented several SWT & JFace-based portions of an Eclipse-based client for managing telecommunication networks.- Independently developed a set of internal tools (as a set of Eclipse plug-ins) that simplified the use of ClearCase for developers on the team from within their development environment - this included several wizards, a line-byline ClearCase team annotations display for JDT editors, and a custom ClearCase modified files search.

Worked on various aspects of an Eclipse-based tool suite for this industrial safety and automation company.- Developed various UI features, and improved other core features of a GMF-based graphical editor- Worked on functionality which transformed a text-based language into the EMF model for the graphical editor- Developed an interpreter for a subset of a procedural language which formed the basis for a scripting feature. As part of the scripting feature, implemented a syntax-highlighting text editor with live validation and auto-complete (based on the Eclipse JFace text editing framework). Also developed a JIT-compiler for this interpreter which generates Java bytecode on-the-fly (using ObjectWeb ASM).- Built a seamless way to deploy to Windows CE devices using ActiveSync and RAPI

Designed and developed an original casual game for the Android platform- The game graphics were drawn using the Android graphics Canvas API- Custom collision detection and physics drove most of the game mechanics- An AppEngine REST service was developed to host high scores player achieved in the game- The game's high score screen stored scores both on the device and allowed players to submit and view scores from the AppEngine service

Developed Eclipse-based tools that shipped as part of a platform SDK.- Created a custom multi-page editor for editing various artifacts- Extended the WTP Servers view to include custom servers to which projects can be deployed- Developed wizards for creating WTP faceted projects

Contributed to the design and development of a product which allows Software Engineers to practice the Model-Driven Architecture using standards such as BPMN and UML. - Primary designer and developer of a feature that allows real-time shared editing between users of the UML and BPMN editors that are part of this product. Built on the EMF and ECF APIs, this functionality allows two or more people sitting in different parts of the world to work in real-time on a particular UML or BPMN diagram. - Designer and developer for a tool that allows various forms of analysis on C code. The tool is based on Eclipse CDT, but adds several new features, including GMF-based visualizations. - Provided consultation to the team's managers for how to approach design and development of various features of the product. - Trained others in various aspects of core Java including object-oriented programming, multi-threading and Java VM workings.

Researched methods for visualizing software models with evolving concerns, focusing on a comprehensive representation of software that links high-level Software Architecture with low-level implementation. - Worked with University faculty and graduate students to research ways to add value to the mapping between Software Architecture and Software implementation. - Conceived a unique historical time-line representation that used the link between Architecture and implementation to show the evolution of a software system at both levels with respect to some implementation-level metric. - Developed a proof-of-concept visualization tool built using the SWT, JFace, and GEF APIs that demonstrated what can be achieved through the mapping between Architecture and implementation (this included a custom SWT control that demonstrates the time-line representation).

Designed and developed traffic simulator plug-ins for a research institute working in collaboration with the California Department of Transportation (CalTrans). The plug-ins allowed CalTrans practitioners to setup complex traffic networks through a simple and powerful interface. Used the .NET Framework to develop a Windows Forms-based multi-threaded rich client application that interoperated with the native simulator application.

Designed and developed SharePoint Web Parts for Xavor Corp., a Microsoft Certified Partner that provides enterprise solutions to Fortune 1000 companies. The components offered an elaborate AJAX-based document management solution, built on top of the existing SharePoint portal platform.
