AREAS OF EXPERTISEProcurement / Materials Management: Formulating and implementing the procurement strategy by developing / modifying strategy for purchase (raw material, packaging material, spare parts, capital items, engineering/electrical/instrumentation goods, chemicals, consumables, OEM, etc.). Accountable for meeting customer orders by designing, implementing and monitoring procurement schedules. Monitoring inward / outward movement of material viz., receipt, gate entry, issue, storage norms, location tagging, loading & unloading, etc.Vendor Development: Assessing the performance of the vendors based on various criterions such as percentage for rejections, quality improvement rate, timely delivery, credit terms, etc. Overseeing follow-up with vendors for engineering deliverables, and quality checks & ensuring timely payments. Monitoring incoming materials supplied by vendors and ensuring they are as per quality & quantity specifications. Logistics: Sustaining the existing network & managing the supply chain, ensuring timely distribution of the merchandise. Managing logistics operations involving coordinating with companies for sea/ air/ road transport, C&F agents, CHA’s and other external agencies to achieve seamless & cost-effective transport solutions. Involved in tendering, negotiation and finalization of local transporters and responsible for dispatching the finished product through approved transporters.Export & Import Operations: Managing the export / import operations and maintaining various documents for the same. Corresponding with buyer’s as well as apprising them about the progress of new developments and status of running orders. Establishing letters of credit, remittances, license route & vetting of necessary commercial documents. Coordinating for customs clearance, export / import matters & liaising with various authorities, shipping companies and other external agencies for various clearances / approvals.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES/ACHIEVEMENT  Responsible for All Purchase activities:-Enquiry Floating- Collecting offers -Quotation Comparison- Price negotiation- Approval-Issue of Purchase Order- Material follow up - Payment Recommendation. Budget Monitoring (Month wise Budget statement to be prepared and send to respective user dept. To Maintain the Expenses within the budgeted amount.) Vendor Evaluation. Developing new vendors for critical spares and sourcing second vendor for OEM. Coal Procurement and Logistics. Vessel Charter and co-ordinate with C&F Agent. Export/Import documentation.
