Although I have worked across a few sectors, my key area is research in the field of modern and contemporary history covers urban poor, urban space, urban history and informal sector with particular focus on rural migrants in cities. One of seminar papers i undertook for my post graduate study dealt with researching everyday life of the destitute in urban Delhi. Further in my pre-doctoral dissertation/thesis, I chose to do life histories of cycle rickshaw pullers who are part of unorganized sector. At present, i am at the final stage of my Doctoral Thesis in which i am mapping the location of urban poor in modern urban. Moreover, I am engaging with the critique of embedded modernity in urban and the State. Since my research covers everyday life of the urban poor like cycle rickshaw pullers, I engage with ethnography, visual ethnography, observation techniques, in-depth interview besides looking at government papers and other archival sources. In brief, my key areas are researching, teaching and training.
