After school I qualified as a Secretary first than achieved a Diploma in Dressmaking in Nairobi Kenya. I worked in Nairobi as a Secretary before immigrating to UK in 1984.I returned back to work after having my children. My first employment was as a Pre School Assistant in 2001. Then in January 2003 I started my second employment with the Children's Information Service as Receptionist/Administrator. This was a charity funded by the Swindon Borough Council. I developed my skills with achieving NVQ level 3 in Customer Service, Telephone handling course, Child Protection, further IT skills and NVQ level 2 in Business Administration. In 2008 the service amalgamated within the Swindon Borough Council and the name changed to Family Information Service. I gained training in wider services provided by the Council example: Housing/Council Tax BenefitsGeneral Enquiries under which things like applications for blue badge, refuge collection, Allotments, Re- cycling bags, pest control etc are dealt with.Bus Pass/Voucher application.My employment ended in June 2012I now work at Breaking Free Support as a administrator which I thoroughly enjoy.
