Tourism Burnaby is the Destination Marketing Organization for Burnaby, responsible for increasing overnight stays in the city through its three pillars: Sport Tourism, Business Travel, and Consumer Marketing. I was the Marketing Manager. RESPONSIBILITIES - Led the organization through the development of a new brand and managed consistency of applications of the brand style and tone - Initiated key consumer campaigns with minimal lead time, such as Between the Bridges, Halloween in Boornaby, and Bite of Burnaby- Developed strategies for stakeholder relations through individual consultation, workshops and monthly newsletters- Oversaw social media management, including content creation, paid advertising, influencer strategy and monitoring of key performance indicators (KPIs)- Developed and executed annual marketing plans - Created key communications pieces such as media releases, speeches, newsletters and web copy- Built assets such as micro-sites, landing pages, posters and campaign collateral - Monitored, reported and evaluated communication activities - Collaborated with key community stakeholders on festivals and events, such as Burnaby Pride, Pat Quinn Classic, and City of Burnaby events- Assists with Sport event procurement and success through bid development, event plans and on-site event management- Managed the marketing and communication efforts for events such as the Pat Quinn Classic, Burnaby Pride, and World Ringette Championships

Tourism Chilliwack is the Destination Marketing Organization for Chilliwack, promoting travel to the community. We worked closely with other destinations to create and implement the Marketing Consortium, The Fraser Valley, and promote the region. I was the Destination Marketing Manager, hired to cover a maternity leave.RESPONSIBILITIES- Managed an annual marketing budget- Delivered bi-monthly monitoring, evaluation, and reporting based on communications activities and marketing initiatives for a board of directors-Assisted with multiple partnerships with community stakeholders and other DMOs- Developed and oversaw strategic planning for content, media, and brand image management- Launched a new digital platform on the tourismchilliwack.com website and recorded a significant increase in site visitation- Oversaw the creation of media releases, responses to media requests, press releases, action plans, social media content, and web content
