Major ask of this role is to develop and scale up biofortified crops to alleviate micro-nutrient deficiency in the people of Bihar & Odisha with major responsibilities as below-• Developing clear vision with well-defined road map for the project. • Product Characterization & developing locally adapted biofortified wheat, rice, and lentil varieties with 60-75% higher target zinc & Iron concentration.• Driving research strategy and operational needs for Nucleus, Foundation and Commercial seed production of biofortified row crops.• Leading marketing & awareness campaign activities for biofortified crops.• Leading product promotion, training, and capacity building of public and private stakeholder.• Exploring digital platforms and user interfaces for biofortified product reach to consumers.• Developing regulatory framework in collaboration with local govt. bodies to distinguish biofortified produce from non-biofortified.• Establishing project related advisory committees with representatives from public, private, commercial, and farmers institutions.• Getting policy reforms for biofortified crops by closely working with Govt., semi govt., commercial, NGO and farmer groups.• Handling operations and budget related with the project activities.• Working closely with global teams to increase the efficacy of the project.

• Drive cotton breeding for genetic gains with consistence, adaptability and superior agronomy as base for the hybrids and creating diversified LD program to support commercial market.• Creation and handling molecular breeding projects for disease tolerance in cotton (identification of QTLs and tracking resistance breaks).• To breed new class of cotton hybrids best suited for new Bio tech traits such as BGIIxRRF, BGIIIxRRF, Extended Herbicide Tolerance, Drought tolerance and many more.• Long term focus on developing hybrids with superior quality traits & suited for mechanical pickings .• Station Management for operations related with capex & opex, regulatory compliance, safety audits and people management.• Categorizing cotton germplasm in distinct pools & their effective utility in different line & commercial breeding programs.• Coordinating for DUS and PVP filling of proprietary material.• Working closely with multiple global teams for different project coordination.• Product development activities for the commercial & pipeline products, Supporting product campaigns, Handling product issue at dealer and farmer level.• Standardization of operating procedures for breeding nurseries, crossing blocks, disease screening nurseries and trials.• Networking with other stake holders for better understanding of products and market needs.• Building strong network and relationship the public sector organizations.

• Establishing cotton testing network for Monsanto in North India• Taking care of cotton hybrids multi location testing in north zone. Which includes a. Farmer selection and making trial agreement b. Lay out planning, trial planting and agronomy management c. Trial quality assessment, collecting data, and submission.• Supporting breeding operations at breeding location; nursery lay out planning, planting, agronomy, data collection, harvesting and inventory management.• Supporting commercial breeding program for nursery screening, yield trial evaluation, seed production, data collection and interpretation.• Coordinating for station environmental safety and health.

• Development of cotton hybrids suitable for North Indian Market.• Germplasm categorization and breeding activities for both cotton sp. i.e. Arboreum and hirsutum.• Testing of cotton hybrids and compilation of Data for in-house as well as AICCIP/ICAR trials.• Supported breeding efforts for other crops including wheat, mustard and castor.
