Working with a multi-cultural, inter-disciplinary and international team of specialists and experts (in different domains), my work at the University is dedicated to improving process and performance management in international development to benefit low-income families in developing countries. My role and responsibility at NRI and within the University include; contributing to growing the enterprise portfolio and capacities in monitoring and evaluation, expanding NRI’s footprint and partnerships in South Asia, and leading on experimental (randomised control trials) and longitudinal research in many sectors. My work is also focussed on innovations in M&E and impact research. I also have teaching and academic responsibilities with the supervision of students (M.Sc and PhD) of natural resources management.

Worked with TechnoServe India and international colleagues, I contributed to projects working for local economic development through supporting private sector-led initiatives (Wal-mart, Syngenta, Cairn). We were working for strengthening producers organisations (Syngenta, HiVOS) and inclusiveness of value chains, livelihood promotion and food security interventions.

I worked as Director and subsequently CEO of Vrutti Livelihoods Resource Centre where we developed Vrutti strategic plan, and designed the delivery model to achieve it. Working with Vrutti colleagues, we designed and delivered on the innovation and partnership agenda of the institution. We worked towards institutional sustainability, organisational development and high-quality implementation of agriculture value chains, producer organisations and rural livelihoods and other aspects of Vrutti's work for social and local economic development.

Bangalore, India

Working with a great team of Catalysts group, we implemented large number of research, consulting and implementation assignments in various parts of India and other countries in South Asia. These assignments contributed to improving the effectiveness of the delivery of social and economic development projects and programs. Across a range of programs and organisations (civil society, government, private sector), we worked for strengthening management systems, strategic planning, monitoring and evaluation etc. All of this work was multi-sectoral - agriculture, livelihoods, rural governance, education, health, urban governance, disaster management, climate change, resilience and adaptation, watersheds, integrated water resource management, forest management etc.

As a member of a team, I contributed to the design, development and implementation of a Computerised Management Information System (CMIS) of National HIV/AIDS Control Program in India. Was also part of many other operational research assignments in the HIV/AIDS sector that had potential to contribute to improved program planning and adaptive management.

Pratapgarh Area, India

Working with dynamic colleagues at IFFDC based at Pratapgarh (Raj), we designed a monitoring and impact assessment system for a component of the Western India Rainfed Farming project (supported by DFID), being implemented by IFFDC in tribal areas. We called the system as Process Evaluation Management Information System (PEMIS) that immensely contributed to understanding program efficiency, quality and impact.
