I believe technology has a role to play in making the world a better place. It is not the final or absolute solution but can make the difference when employed with care and common sense.I have 27 years of experience bringing hardware, software, and services to market. I’ve owned both strategy and execution and led teams throughout all phases of the product lifecycle. Most of my experience has been in information technology but I began my career in the automotive industry.I currently focus on protecting the world’s largest companies from cyberattacks as Director of Cybersecurity and Compliance Product Management and Strategy in Broadcom’s Mainframe Software Division. I’ve learned that despite the escalating creativity and malice of cyberattackers, discipline around the cybersecurity fundamentals goes a long way in thwarting attacks.Despite being a student of science, I’ve also learned that the world does not always make rational decisions. Human emotions come into play and I explore this in my documentary-style podcast called Institrve – True Stories about MIT. A trove of wonder, discovery, and madness. While each story is rooted in some aspect of MIT, its themes are relatable to everyone as they delve into the human experience.Finally, as a counterbalance to the digital world, I enjoy woodworking and making things in general. It’s the joy of seeing something tangible arise out of just an idea.
