I lead the Industry practice for Travel & Transportation in the Centre of Competence(CoC). My key expertise was airports having worked in more than eight airport projects worldwide. The CoC represents Industry eminence and helps IBM teams to have deep client conversations, support large bids and assist in project execution. IBM serves Airlines, Airports, Rail, Freight Logistics and Travel Related services as segments within T & T. The CoC is a virtual unit with its Subject Matter experts(SME) located world wide.

Handling special assignments for Mobility vertical in Portfolio enablement and internal alignment with larger synergistic units. helped Vertical win a very large airport opportunity in U.K. expanded ability to deliver by operationalising more competence centres. Promoting skills enablement on a global basis and expanding the network of local Practice Managers. Reporting to Head Office in Germany.

Set up a new SBU in October 2004 focussed on Aviation. Developed Strategic Partners, identified Value-Proposition and revamped the Portfolio completly to re-position Siemens IT as a Master System Integrator. Convinced Management and set up a State-of- the-Art Airport Systems Laboratory to act as a Proof of concept centre to show case competence. Laboratory was unique and had all Key Portfolio Elements configured with demo scripts in place.Leveraged Partnerships to ensure participation in overseas airport projects. Brought in the first three major projects in Greenfield & brownfield Airports and propelled the business unit into a Industry Leadership position in the region by December 2006. Moved to Head Vertical Practice Management for Transportation and Airports in October 2007. Set up a Global Competence Centre for Airports and oversaw many projects such as the first three PPP airport projects in India, Suvarnabhumi International Airport, Bangkok and Munich Terminal 2.
