I oversee both R&D and IT horizontally across the organisation, and promote a culture of innovation.My primary objective in this new role is to enable Digital Transformation of VAE Group (as a traditional Mechanical HVAC business that relies heavily on it's skilled labour resources) into a Data-Driven business that can automate many of it's functions and allow it to scale effectively. As VAE Group continues to grow at a steady pace, it is increasingly important to be efficient in how labour resources are utilised so as to maintain our high levels of profitability, quality and customer satisfaction.The challenges in this role are less about the technology and more about organisational change management. There are many stakeholders throughout the different business units who all play a vital role in ensuring success for any Digital Transformation project, especially with the continuing growth of the company. Internal research, discussions and training of people are all important skills which I've adopted along the way.Promoting innovation culture is also an exciting aspect of the role which I am passionate about. I was brought on board to support the group in its higher vision of integrating Software, Building Automation and IT to improve workflow and efficiency between subsidiary business units, as well as to manage several product lines including Bitpool.
