Hi, I'm Rawan Mukhtar, a rising junior at the University of Southern California, majoring in Environmental Studies with a concentration in Oceans, Life, and People. My passion for marine conservation drives me to understand how marine organisms adapt to environmental changes, particularly in the face of climate change and anthropogenic impacts. I'm fascinated by marine ecology, animal behavior, and physiology, aiming to contribute to scientific initiatives that protect marine biodiversity. As a first-generation student of Egyptian immigrants, I'm equally committed to enhancing diversity in STEM, striving to be the role model I never had for underrepresented youth while promoting systemic change for a more inclusive scientific community. I'm actively seeking internships, research opportunities, and collaborations with marine conservation and environmental organizations to apply my interests, learn from experts, and make a tangible difference in preserving our oceans!
