At the start of my career I had the privilege of learning from an incredible mentor. His advice and encouragement ignited my passion for the world of accounting & finance. He imparted many words of wisdom, two of which remain lodged in my brain. The first was, sales are good, revenue is better, but cash is king. In the world of mid-sized businesses and startups, that advice has always served to keep me grounded in the fundamentals, and ensure focus on the business activities that matter most, as well as the strategic objectives. The second was, at the end of the day, the only things that matter are your reputation and your family, if you protect those, everything else will be okay. Again, this has kept me focused and grounded on the things beyond business that matter most. I will always be thankful for those early years, and excited for what is to come.My career path has brought me direct experience with being the company in search of being acquired, as well as being the acquirer. Both take patience and attention to detail. While at IntrinsiQ I ran countless business models in support of potential acquisitions, and went through numerous due diligence processes, which ultimately resulted in a successful strategic sale of the business. All my previous experience has immersed me in the details, such as revenue recognition, balance sheet controls, global consolidations, and reporting. At the same time, I’ve had to be a generalist to manage operations and administrative functions to ensure consistent and aligned support throughout the organization. The value I bring to the team is being comfortable wearing many hats, from reconciling a balance sheet account to preparing board packs; from prepping offer letters to negotiating data center hosting agreements; from helping sales negotiate a customer contract to ensuring the revenue from the contract is recognized appropriately, my skill set is varied and poised to meet any challenge.
