Ray is currently embracing the role ofVolunteer coordinator for CultureVolunteers Poole after initially helpingwith the conservation of the RomanHouse in Upton.He spent a busy and satisfying summervolunteering, transforming the groundsof Oakdale Library and creating abeautiful ‘Reading Garden’ with thelocal WI. He provides on-goingmaintenance to the garden as well assupporting the library with its excitingplans for future events in the garden.Ray also has volunteered at the offices forPro Disability. His keen interest involunteering started after having beenmade redundant from retailmanagement. He was searching for anew job when he had an offer tovolunteer for the charity ‘Cherry TreeNursery’, part of the Sheltered WorkOpportunities Project assisting peoplewith mental illness. After a few monthshe was offered a part time job as jointoffice coordinator. Ray still works theretoday and thoroughly enjoys thechallenges this offers.
