Since 2007 I have worked with ATSI youth in roles with Family & Community Services (DoCS) in 2008 and over the last two years as a Youth Caseworker with Samaritans Youth Homelessness Crisis Service in Wyong NSW.In 2013, I was also selected as a Consultant: Next Steps Initiative - Aboriginal Education (Department of Education, Employment & Workplace Relations). The three month contract was primarily focused on evaluating the success of the program in each school across sites both Primary and Secondary in NSW and Queensland. The evaluation included aspects of Teaching & Learning as well as assessing progress in developing community partnerships.Previously (1981-2007) in schools I had a significant level of successful implementation of innovative programs including Aboriginal Education and working in and with Disadvantaged Communities. I was Principal of Collarenebri Central K - 12 which had a 50% population. These programs lead to improved student performance on the then Basic Skills Test for both Year 3 and Year 5 students in 1997 and again in 1998. Our redeveloped Aboriginal Studies (HSC) program saw significant improvement and in 1997 we had outstanding results scoring very high performance.I was also Principal of Copacabana [1999-2001] (450 students) and Killarney Vale [2002-2007](600+ students) Public Schools on the NSW Central Coast. The latter was characterised by a significant Aboriginal student population in addition to being classified as a Disadavantaged School Community that accessed Priority Schools Funding.I have a long association with working with all forms of technology in both classroom and administrative practice.Further, in addition to 17 yrs of Principalship and the associated history of staff development I have a Degree - Bachelor of Education: Administrative Leadership.
