I'm currently the head of the Computer Science and Design Technology department. My role includes monitoring lessons, managing resources and teaching. As part of my role I encourage students to take part in extra curricular activities such as the UK National Bebras challenge. This year we have managed to get one student into the final round out of thousands in the UK. I have extra curricular clubs running and I organise skypes with people in the industry who can talk to students about how they got into the computer science industry. I'm still developing my role but I'm very excited about the future. I currently manage a team of 7 which is looking to grow due to the popularity of Computer science.

Overall responsibility for teaching and learning, achievement and attainment within the ICT department and to lead and manage the Head of Computing. To inspire their departmental colleagues and all students who study in their curriculum area with a love for their subject, leading them to explore it and value it for their whole life. I have experience in teaching OOP and coding in languages such as Python and HTML. During my time at university I was fortunate to work with PHP and have some experience in working in industry. During my placement year I worked at Pegasus in Kettering, Northamptonshire before it closed. Organisation of the delivery of the subject ICT and Computer Science in the academy. To contribute to the development and maintenance of whole academy strategy, policies and ethos.  Training the whole school on their use of Microsoft Teams.  Developing a remote learning program with SLT to support whole school progress.  Running a whole school CPD program for online safety and supporting the DSL.  Embedding online-safety into the whole school curriculum.  Designing an online digital literacy program for KS5 students in order to enhance their employment skills – Working with careers.  Managing a team of 6 teachers across KS3 and KS5. Ensuring high quality teaching and learning through regular learning walks and book sampling. Delivering training sessions through the teaching school on planning a sequence of lessons.  Monitoring pupil progress and implementing individual intervention for the pupils.  Training teachers across the Academy  Working with primary schools across the trust to ensure that they’re trained up with online-safety.  KS4 OCR GCSE Computer Science / BTEC DIT  KS5 Some experience with AQA Computer Science / KS5 BTEC LEVEL 3 IT  Use of 4 Matrix data analysis across departments and within the BICS faculty.  Use of SIMS to create and run reports to support the department.

Taking of the role of monitoring and managing a department of computer science and ICT teachers to help support the results of the department. This includes monitoring Pupil Premium students and ensuring that standards are maintained. Current computer science results are way above national average (21% above) and the ICT results are just as high.  Managing a team of 4 teachers across KS3 and KS5. Monitoring pupil progress and implementing appropriate intervention. Monitoring and implementing strategies to maintain closed gaps between groups. Training teachers to develop their subject knowledge in computing.  Launching ‘Digital Leaders’ across the school allowing pupils to be used in different subjects for their digital literacy. Running extra-curricular clubs such as Robotics, Minecraft and computing club for girls.  Liaise with SENCO and classroom assistants in order to develop strategies for differentiation. Manage the successful transition from ICT to Computing through rigorous development plans.  Working with primary schools across counties to help boost both teacher and pupil subject knowledge.  Planning and delivering A-Level content for OCR Computing qualification. Working across two campuses to ensure the progress of pupils.

Brooke Weston Academy Corby

Leading the Computer Science Curriculum in the school. Responsible for Pupil Premium across ICT / Computing and also boosting the image of computer science. Teaching Maths 1 lesson a week. Managing data and intervention within computer science and training other staff to understand the new computer science curriculum. SLE - Senior Leader Of Education - This role is relatively new but will involve me helping other schools with their computer programming.

Peterborough And Corby

On top of my school teaching, I'm a principal Irish Dance Teacher for the Solas School of Irish Dance. We teach in both Corby and Peterborough and have been established since September 2015. We teach from ages 3 and upwards.

Uppingham

I have recently received the role of Head of Department. My new role is to manage the IT department and to help drive computer science in the school. We currently have a number of students building windows applications for the surface and we're looking at expanding into more programming in the future. I am developing scheme's of work through my blog and I'm looking to develop programming resources for primary schools.

Uppingham

I have been working at Uppingham since September 2012. My current role involves extending IT and it's use around the college. I'm currently re-developing the IT curriculum aiming to provide more programming solutions for IT. Students are using software such as KODU and App Inventor. I have been changing the way assessment is done within the department.

To review the games that students had produced and to evaluate them on their effectiveness. We watched the students pitch their ideas to us and during this process we whittled them down to the final winner.

IT teacher. Role involved marking, taking part in after school activities. Arranging out of school visits. I was successfully awarded innovative teaching awards whilst working at Lodge Park and was awarded a commendation as a national teaching award.

Kettering

Worked here 4 years to get me through university. Was great place to work with great people.

Corby Northamptonshire

Carried out daily networking tasks such as changing passwords. Provided support to the rest of the school and got to work with the training team to create some good applications.

Corby

Worked as a picker and packer at the Corby centre which is now closed. We were made redundant at the time of this. It has now become the Argos warehouse. Had to use sheets to see what customers needed. We would then have to use the computers to search for the item.
