I was instrumental in providing analysis and advice to help E-Car to lead the way in proving that Electric vehicles can prove profitable and environmentally friendly alternatives to internal combustion powered cars and vans in the car club model.E-car have secured new sites and clients and are growing at 200% per annum. The latest phase see's us launch our latest scheme in Paris City. My role is to provide a specialist project manangement services and consultancy in remote asset management using telematics and software applications for shared vehicles, electric shared vehicles. Typical deployments in the following situations:At Technology for sustainable travel (T4ST), we are always looking for ways in which our clients can improve their environmental performance, not just because it is the right thing to do but because it can save time and money too. T4ST was set up as part of the Centre for sustainable travel (C4ST), a group of people that have assisted businesses and organisations to make more efficient use of fleet, car clubs, and in general any form of sustainable travel. - Pool vehicles : used by multiple employees within an organisation.- Self-service shared vehicles : in car clubs run by communities, co-ops and businesses- Alternatively fuelled vehicles: The focus on poor air quality means that we should look at cleaner and more efficient vehicles.I have now worked in the industry of shared vehicle rental for 16 years+, overseeing a change in systems at City Car Club from primitive to state of the art. I have experiences with 4 types of devices for in car sharing systems and 4 different software examples of booking engines. I remain the MD of T4ST, but took on an exciting role at E-Car from 2013 as Project Manager Head of Technology. This role needed my full time work as we moved at speed to capitalise opportunities.In 2015 we decided that we had enough data from the EV market to design and build our own software platform that would monitor bookings, batteries (12V and traction), charge post and use algorithms to maximise fleet usage. The next few years will prove exciting as the challenges to the sector are resolved. Simplicity is the key, one card/app/credit card account gives access to multi modes of travel, including parking reservation, train, club car, charging infrastructure etc. One bill for all different modes should be attainable.
